My research focuses on the dynamics of subalpine forests, and more specifically on the upper forest line, since 1850. I use GIS to compare historical and recent maps to reconstruct the forest dynamics. I also aim to analyse the climatic and socio-economic drivers of subalpine forest dynamics and assess the consequences of forest expansion for alpine and subalpine ecosystems. As a postdoc, I focus particularly on linking subalpine forest dynamics to greening dynamics in the French Alps and Pyrenees.
